Foundation and Renowned Cosmetic Dentist Ross Nash to Assist a Soldier's Wife

November 12, 2014

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- For a couple of entrepreneurial identical twin brothers, giving back is an everyday family affair, especially when it comes to veterans and their families.

So, with Veterans Day (Tuesday, November 11) right around the corner, Dave and Lt. Col (ret.) Rob Waldman have decided to step up and help out a soldier's wife in need.  Dave, Founder of Charlotte based Waldman Naturals – which recently created and launched the world's first 100% natural powdered fruit blends, Kickers® – and Atlanta resident Rob "Waldo" Waldman, a combat decorated fighter pilot turned professional leadership speaker and New York Times best-selling author, co-founded The Wingman Foundation, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization which raises funds and awareness for soldiers and their families in need.

Jordan Howe, a Huntersville-based military wife-to-be, is engaged to Sonny Siragusa who serves in the Navy and is currently in Europe following his first deployment to Afghanistan.  Jordan wanted to not only give her soon to be husband a lifelong gift he would never forget, a world-class smile, but also correct a chronic painful medical condition that was deteriorating her gums and teeth.  However, with previous dental procedures that went awry leaving her with even more pain and discomfort (and expenses that were drastic for a kindergarten teacher's budget), that dream was nearly squashed.

But Jordan took a chance and told her story to world-renowned oral surgeon, cosmetic dentist, and international lecturer on esthetic dentistry Dr. Ross Nash.  Also based in Huntersville, Dr. Nash is one of only 46 Accredited Fellows worldwide (the highest achievement level in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the largest organization of its kind in the world.

Dr. Nash, a former Army Reservist with a history of charitable dental work around the globe, wanted to help.  When the Waldman brothers learned of the story, they decided to "lend a wing." On November 11 (Veterans Day), with financial assistance from Waldman Naturals, The Wingman Foundation, and another Charlotte based entrepreneur and Navy Veteran Hugh Cooper of Safima Solutions, Dr. Nash will begin the extensive six-month procedure. "With the help of The Wingman Foundation and Cooper, we'll make sure an American soldier gets a bright surprise when he returns from service. We plan to restore her gum health and give her a new smile just in time for their wedding…a great way to thank them for their service to our country and community!"

For Dave, a Charlotte-based renowned health and fitness expert who launched Kickers powdered fruit blends in September to rave reviews at the Natural Products Expo, giving back was an easy choice.  "My team at Waldman Naturals is excited to launch Kickers and we're off to a great start," said Dave. "From the beginning, our goal was to make a difference by inspiring and educating people to live healthier lives while giving back to our community in meaningful ways. Putting a beautiful smile on Jordan's face puts an even bigger one on mine."
